Summary
Vitey is a health and fitness app for iPhone and Apple Watch. It has no accounts, no servers of its own, and no advertising, analytics or tracking. Your health data stays on your device and in Apple Health; we never receive it, sell it, or use it for advertising or marketing. A few features send small, non-identifying requests to outside services (weather, food lookup and nearby places), described below.
Who we are
Vitey is made by [DEVELOPER LEGAL NAME] ("we", "us"), based in the United States. You can contact us at support@vitey.app. Because Vitey processes your information on your device and we run no servers, we don't hold a copy of it. For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the controller of the processing Vitey's software carries out.
Information Vitey keeps on your device
Vitey stores the following only on your iPhone (and, for workout plans and watch workouts, your Apple Watch): your profile (name, date of birth, sex or gender, height, goals, activity level, usual meal times and any health notes or life stage, such as pregnancy, you choose to add); your food and water log and saved meals; workout plans, planned sessions and strength sets; mood and energy check-ins; symptoms, medications and doses, and habits you log; goals, reminders, settings and your agreement to these policies; and progress photos. You enter this information yourself, or Vitey reads it from Apple Health with your permission.
Apple Health data Vitey uses
With your permission, Vitey reads from Apple Health: steps, distance (walking, running, cycling, swimming), active and resting energy, exercise and stand time, flights climbed, workouts and workout routes, activity rings, sleep, heart rate, resting and walking heart rate, heart rate variability, VO₂ max, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, sleeping wrist temperature, weight, height, body fat, BMI, lean body mass, dietary energy, protein, carbohydrates, fat and water, mindful minutes, symptoms, menstrual flow (only if you turn on cycle tracking), date of birth and biological sex. With your permission, Vitey writes to Apple Health: food energy and macronutrients, water, weight, body fat, workouts with their energy, distance and routes, symptoms, mindful minutes and period days you log. Vitey only writes data you enter, record or confirm (calories for workouts you log by hand or do with Vitey's workout timer are estimated from the workout's type, length and your weight), and never writes false data. You choose which types Vitey can read or write in the Health app, and can change this at any time.
How Vitey uses your information
Vitey uses this information only to provide its features to you: to show your numbers, charts and trends; set targets; create workout plans and tips; estimate readiness, training load and sleep patterns; find patterns between your own days; send the reminders you turn on; and make reports you choose to share. Your Apple Health data is never used for advertising, marketing or use-based data mining, never sold or rented, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Location and motion
If you allow location access, Vitey uses your location while you use the app to show local weather and nearby places, and uses precise location to record the route of a run, walk, ride or skate you start, including in the background until you end it. Routes are saved with the workout in Apple Health. While you track a route, Vitey may use your iPhone's motion sensor to notice when you're in a car, bus or train and pause tracking; motion data stays on your device and isn't stored. Vitey works without location access; weather and nearby places are then unavailable.
Camera, photos and Face ID
The camera is used, only when you open it, to scan food barcodes and nutrition labels (read on your device) and to take progress photos. Progress photos are encrypted on your device with a key that is stored only on that device, kept out of your photo library, and unlocked with Face ID or your passcode. Face ID is handled by Apple; Vitey never receives your face data.
Calendar and Apple Watch
If you pick a time for a planned workout and allow calendar access, Vitey reads when events in your calendars start and end on that day to suggest free times, and adds the workouts you schedule to your calendar. It reads event times on your device only; it doesn't store, copy or send your events, and it only changes or removes events it added itself. If you choose to send a workout to Apple Watch, Vitey schedules it in the Workout app through Apple's WorkoutKit. You can turn either off for any workout, and remove calendar access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars.
Apple Intelligence and other Apple features
On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, Vitey uses Apple's on-device language model to reword tips and to understand plan changes you type. This runs on your iPhone; nothing is sent to us or to any other AI service, and you can turn it off in Preferences. If you use Siri, dictation, Shortcuts, widgets, Live Activities or notifications, Apple processes those under Apple's privacy policy, and Vitey only receives the result. Reminders are scheduled on your device. Data between your iPhone and Apple Watch passes directly between your devices.
Services Vitey connects to
Vitey sends only the following, and never your name, contact details or Apple Health data: Weather: your approximate location, rounded to about 1 km, to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) for forecasts, UV and air quality; if Apple Weather is used instead, to Apple. Food lookup: the words you search or a barcode number to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org). Nearby places: searches for gyms, classes, parks and trails to Apple Maps, and the map area shown, rounded to about 1 km, to OpenStreetMap's Overpass service (overpass-api.de, or overpass.kumi.systems if it's busy). As with any internet request, these services also receive your device's IP address. They use the data to answer the request under their own privacy policies; we don't control them and receive nothing back about you. We chose these services because they need no account or identifier, and we send them the minimum needed. You can turn weather off in Preferences and simply not use food search or nearby places.
Our website
Our website, vitey.app, is hosted by Cloudflare. It has no accounts, cookies, ads or analytics. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes visitors' IP addresses and basic request details to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy. Email you send to support@vitey.app is used only to answer you and is deleted when it's no longer needed.
Sharing you start
PDF reports and CSV exports are created on your device and go only where you send them, for example to your doctor. Once shared, the recipient's own practices apply.
What we never do
We don't sell or rent your information; show ads; use analytics, advertising or tracking software; track you across other companies' apps or websites (so Vitey never asks for tracking permission); build profiles about you; share data with data brokers; or store your health information in iCloud (your own device backups are covered below).
How long information is kept
Information Vitey stores stays on your device until you delete it in Vitey or delete the app. Data in Apple Health stays there until you delete it in the Health app, because Apple Health is controlled by you and Apple, not by Vitey. We don't keep the requests described above. If you back up your iPhone (to iCloud or a computer), the backup may include Vitey's on-device information under your backup settings; progress photos can't be opened from a backup on another device because their key never leaves the original device.
Your choices and how to delete your data
You can: change which Apple Health data Vitey can read or write in Health › your profile › Apps › Vitey; turn location, camera, motion and notifications on or off in iOS Settings; turn weather off in Vitey's Preferences; export your data as CSV or PDF from Profile; and delete everything Vitey stores in Profile › Delete data and start over (you choose whether progress photos are deleted too). Deleting the app also deletes its data from your device. To delete data Vitey wrote to Apple Health, use the Health app. Withdrawing a permission stops future use; it doesn't affect what was done before.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Because your information is kept on your device, you can use these rights directly in the app and the Health app (see above). You can also email us at support@vitey.app; we'll reply within one month (45 days under some US state laws) and won't treat you differently for using your rights. In the EU and UK, Vitey relies on your explicit consent for health information, given when you set up Vitey and grant Apple Health permissions, and on our legitimate interest in providing the features you request for the limited service requests above. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
US state privacy notice
Residents of California and other US states with consumer privacy laws: we don't sell or share personal information, use it for targeted advertising or profiling, or collect it on servers. The categories Vitey handles on your device are identifiers you enter (name), personal characteristics (age, sex), health and fitness information, approximate and precise location, and photos, used only for the purposes above. For consumer health data under Washington, Nevada and Connecticut law, see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Children
Vitey isn't meant for children under 13 and doesn't continue setup for anyone younger. Teens under 18 should use Vitey with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child under 13 has used Vitey, they can delete its data in Profile or delete the app; you can also contact us.
Security
Vitey's data is protected by your device's built-in encryption, an optional Face ID lock for the whole app, separate encryption for progress photos, and encrypted connections (HTTPS) for every request it sends. No method is perfectly secure, so keep your device's passcode private and your software up to date.
International users
We're based in the United States, and the services Vitey connects to may process requests in other countries. These requests carry no name or health data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will show a new date in the app, and if the change is important you'll be asked to agree again before you keep using Vitey.
